Adblock Plus for Microsoft Edge is in the works

Adblock Plus was first released 10 years ago, since then becoming one of the most installed browser extensions in the world — and rightfully so. While this popular extension is available for many modern browsers, certain ones lack extension support, making it impossible to use Adblock Plus. However, it seems things are looking good regarding Adblock Plus support for Microsoft Edge. It’s no secret that Microsoft is planning to bring extensions to Edge browser. In fact, Insider members have already gotten support for browser extensions alongside other major Microsoft Edge improvements. With extensions support just around the corner for non-Insider members, users are eager to know when Adblock Plus for Microsoft Edge will be released. According to a recent tweet by Adblock Plus developers, it seems Adblock Plus for Edge is in the works, and should be available as soon as Microsoft authorizes its release. Since both Microsoft and Google use similar architecture for browser extensions, porting extensions from one browser to another is a pretty streamlined process for developers — especially after Microsoft’s development of a tool to make the process even easier — so we expect to see Adblock Plus for Microsoft Edge soon.

— Adblock Plus (@AdblockPlus) March 21, 2016 Adblock Plus is one of the most anticipated extensions for Microsoft Edge and although many people are eager to try this extension, we’ll just have to sit patiently and wait for Microsoft to release browser extension support to the public.
