We can safely presume that Microsoft is going to release a new Microsoft Edge ARM64 version very soon. Until then, a new Canary build for the new Microsoft Edge surfaced online recently. Microsoft specifically developed this build to run on ARM64 devices. Twitter user ADeltaX who leaked the build online stated that ARM64 updater is not available just yet. Apparently, Microsoft may be developing an ARM64 updater for Chromium Edge before going for the official release.
— ADeltaX (@ADeltaXForce) June 6, 2019 As we can see from the tweet, the version of the new Microsoft Edge is 76.0.182.0. Windows users expect this version to offer the same features currently available on the desktop.
Download Chromium-Edge for ARM64 devices
You can download the unofficial Chromium-Edge browser for ARM64 devices using the download link available in the tweet above. Although the installation file comes with Microsoft’s signatures, still you need to be careful. Keep in mind that the install files come from a third party so it is better to wait for an official release. So, if you’re still curious, proceed at your own risk.
Chromium-Edge for Linux
Linux users hope that Microsoft may release a Linux version of the browser as well. Still, there is no official announcement from Microsoft in this regard. Similarly, the corresponding versions for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 are expected to be in the pipeline of future projects. It looks like this won’t happen soon because at the moment there is no ETA available. As a quick reminder, Windows 7 is all set to retire in January 2020. Microsoft is encouraging users to upgrade to Windows 10. As a matter of fact, Microsoft needs to reconsider its decision to offer Edge to Windows 7 users. This would give them another reason to stick to Windows 7. RELATED ARTICLES YOU NEED TO CHECK OUT:
