For now, this is only available to a limited number of people, namely to those in the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring where access is invitation-based. It’s expected that the availability will be extended to more Xbox Insiders in the near future.
How do mouse and keyboard work on Xbox’s Edge?
So those part of the mentioned community should install the latest Edge version for Xbox launched last Friday and connect a USB mouse and keyboard to test their functionality. The mouse works just as it should for scrolling, opening the right-menu options, or simple navigation. It pretty much feels like using the mouse in a desktop browser. The same is valid with a keyboard, although the virtual keyboard keeps popping up from time to time upon clicking. But since this is just an early testing stage, bugs are normal. The great news is that now Edge with mouse and keyboard support can be used to play Google Stadia or browser games mostly. On the other hand, Steam fans might have some trouble accessing their favorite platform from Xbox’s Edge right now. But a little tweak should work. Namely, if using Parsec, a remote control software optimized for gamers, gamers can connect to a PC and access Steam to play any platform game. From here, the connected mouse and keyboard work as expected. Edge browser is the only Xbox app with mouse and keyboard support for now.
