Permanently mute websites
Google Chrome will soon introduce the option to permanently mute websites, and such a new feature will make lots of users happy, that’s for sure. You can check out the feature now as well because it is already available in the experimental Canary build of Chrome. You will be able to block sound on a domain by using the page info bubble.
How to disable website sound on Chrome
Google’s Francois Beaufort stated that the company is still experimenting with this new feature. In the early version of this option, the sound toggle is found in the page info pop-up. You can access it by clicking on the far left of the address bar. That is either an info icon or a Secure label for sites that have HTTPS enabled. Flash, JavaScript, notifications and more already have various toggles there. And soon, a new sound toggle will be added that will work similarly. The sites that you decide to mute the sound on will stay like that until you enable it again. This will probably turn out indispensable especially for pages that you have to visit when you want to upload a video. The feature is off by default in the latest Canary build of Chrome, and you can turn it on by running the enable-features-SoundContentSetting switch.
