In a recent forum thread, Jio customers begged Microsoft to bring Jio support for Windows phones, but this request only triggered a debate as to whose fault it is that a series of Windows phones, such as Lumia 550 and Lumia 640 do not properly work with Jio SIM cards. On the one hand, Jio SIM users accuse Microsoft of not wanting to cooperate, while the Redmond giant invites them to contact Jio and request Windows phone support. This apparent incompatibility issue between Lumia phones and Jio SIM cards doesn’t allow users to make phone calls nor send SMS. Mobile data is the only service available, but this is not enough as it drastically reduces the number of services users can benefit from. As a quick reminder, VoLTE is not a universal standard. Carriers need to configure their networks and specifically allow the VoLTE devices. In other words, Jio needs to configure its network to allow Windows phones to access all its services, not just mobile data. For the time being, there is no clear answer available for this question. Meanwhile, users continue the debate on various forums, only to receive the same answer. Users are getting tired of hearing the same reply all over again, and accuse Microsoft of not wanting to cooperate: Are you a Jio customer?
