Edge provides users with options to control media
Users will get the ability to control media that can play automatically when websites are being loaded. Microsoft explained that if you want more control over autoplay videos, you will be able to enjoy this new feature that will be added to Microsoft Edge. This will allow users to gain more control whether websites can autoplay media or not. The preview will be located under Advanced Settings – Allow sites to automatically play media. Redmond made a mistake and said that the feature is already available when it’s not in fact.
The new feature won’t be enabled by default
This new functionality will not be enabled by default, and you will have to activate the blocking of auto-playing sounds and videos manually. Each user in Windows 10 who wants the new feature on will have to head over to Settings – Advanced – Allow sites to automatically play media. Microsoft Edge gets new updates with every new Windows 10 feature releases. The next significant update is scheduled to come with Redstone 5 during the Fall. In other words, the tech giant still has some time left to improve the current behavior of the feature that allows you to block media before it releases it to the general public. Don’t forget that Insiders will get access to the feature’s preview in the upcoming weeks and we’ll probably know more about it then. RELATED STORIES TO CHECK OUT:
