User complaints about GPS issues started back in January: Another user confirms: When the phone reboots, everything works fine except that it doesn’t get a fix on my location (except for within around 100 miles) for around an hour after the reset. I even tried putting on the latest Insider Preview in the hope that the Bluetooth/GPS fixes it listed would fix it. As of this morning, it’s made no difference. This issue didn’t/doesn’t happen to my Lumia 1020 running the latest Insider Preview and the exact same software and car stereo. As an update, the phone crashed at 6:30 this morning. As of now (12:30) it’s still not able to accurately tell me my location. Microsoft informed users of the improved performance of its GPS app while driving, but notice that the company didn’t go as far as guarantee issues wouldn’t occur anymore.
