Unlike rival Slack, Teams’ growth and success depend more on the depth and breadth of Office 365 than third-party app integration. But that’s not to say that Teams isn’t integrating with solutions from other tech firms. Little wonder, then, that Asana announced a new integration with the Office 365 SaaS tool.

Microsoft Teams integrates with Asana

Asana’s integration with Microsoft Teams should enable teammates to automate workflows even as they collaborate remotely, the company said. Microsoft Teams/Asana integration should deliver the following perks:

In particular, the new integration gives Asana users visibility into Teams conversations. It enables them to streamline task management as a result. Another benefit is the incorporation of a bot that auto-generates notifications about Asana task changes. Teams users can receive and personalize that information accordingly. The Teams user interface lets teammates track and share info on the status and progression of Asana tasks. Within Microsoft Teams, colleagues can find and share Asana tasks.

Plugging a workflow automation tool into Teams should make latter a little more powerful than it is already. Don’t forget that the Office 365 solution is soon receiving an RPA injection, thanks to Power Automate integration. Microsoft announced that during the recently concluded Build 2020 event.
