Mouse’ Facial Recognition Camera and Fingerprint Reader for Windows 10 brings Windows Hello accessories to general consumers on a limited budget. For just $69, you can now look at your screen to log in using the Mouse Facial Recognition Camera. The device is mounted on top of your monitor and is plugged in using USB-A. The camera can shoot at 720p at 30fps like any standard web cam for the Windows Camera app, Skype, and other related applications. However, the Mouse Facial Recognition Camera does not ship with a built-in microphone. The Mouse Facial Recognition Camera recognizes faces well even in low light situations. It is also fool-proof as it uses advanced mathematical models to create a 3D image and convert the data into an encrypted hash. For users who are more comfortable using their finger to log into their PC, the Mouse Fingerprint Reader is available for $49. The device flashes a small blue LED when active which turns green once it recognizes a fingerprint. To register your finger, go to Settings > Sign in options > Windows Hello. Then, you can add multiple fingerprints. The sensor includes a 360-degree field of recognition so you can press your finger anywhere to log in. It requires no software installation and Windows Hello automatically works with the reader. Keep in mind, however, that you need a modern PC to use Windows Hello. Your computer in particular must have the Trusted Platform Module 2.0 installed to run Windows Hello.
