This will not disrupt users’ productivity at all and they will be able to have their data moved to OneDrive and synced back on other systems automatically.

You’ll have access to your content from all devices you’re logged in

The new feature means that your content will become available from all devices where you’re logged in with the same account. The tech giant reported that this feature would become available for Insiders sometimes during this week and the first customers will get to give this a try in just a few days. By the end of this month, the general public will get to see how Known Folder Move feature works on their systems.

IT admins get dedicated options

Microsoft said that IT admins will be able to set up group policies in order to require users in the network to configure Known Folder Move and have their data moved to the cloud automatically. IT admins will get more options for their users, and these will include a silent redirection of Windows known folders to OneDrive and also the ability to prevent users from redirecting the Windows known folders. One option is that data will be moved to OneDrive without any notification sent to users when the process is finished. The company explained that this policy works when all known folders are empty and on folders dedicated to a different OneDrive account. Microsoft recommends that you use the police together with “Prompt users to move Windows known folders to OneDrive.” RELATED STORIES TO CHECK:
