Important Update on Picasa Desktop Application

The official Google Picasa Blog posted an update on March 26, 2018 to announce that the Picasa Desktop application will no longer work online. If you choose to download the app from other sources, you may see error messages when trying to upload or download files. As off now you will not be able to upload or download photos and videos, create online albums, or delete online photos, videos and albums. Users with a Picasa account who missed to migrate on time, have no worries! All of your photos and videos [should be] automatically backed up in Google Photos, as the post claims. While Google has decided to focus on a single application to manage photos and made it possible for users to keep their files synced in Google Drive, Windows users have to look for a new photo organizer native app. We can help here with some handpicked lists of tools to manage your gallery on the following articles:

In terms of editing, not much has changes in the latest updates, so users can still make the classic modifications to their photos, like balance colors, contrast, rotate and add certain effects. One new feature that was added is the Side-by-Side editing, where users can have the original version of the photo right next to the edited one, so they can see the differences better.
