The Snapdragon 821 is actually similar to the Snapdragon 820, as it incorporates a lot of the technology used by the the 820. For example, one common element is the 600 Mbps X12 LTE modem which can be found on both processors. The secret behing Snapdragon’s superiority is its clock speed of 2.4GHz. Qualcomms’ Snapdragon 820 can reach a maximum clock speed of 2.15GHz. Naturally, the Snapdragon 821 will be used in state-of-the-art technologies, such as drones, robots or virtual reality headsets, and smartphones as well. Actually, the Snapdragon 821 will help manufacturers to set a new bar for smartphones, tablets, VR headsets and other devices, allowing them to design extremely powerful devices. Qualcomm confirmed that commercial devices powered by the Snapdragon 821 should land on the market in the second half of 2016, but didn’t reveal which devices would be equipped with this processor.
