A new version of Spotify version is now available for Windows Desktops on PCs and tablets. This new update doesn’t have a changelog, but it seems the application now supports Windows’ native media APIs. Now, you will be able now to control Spotify not only from the taskbar or inside the application, but also from the media control widget that appears when you press the volume keys and in lock screen. These APIs were initially used by Windows 10 Universal applications and by the Windows 8/8.1 Universal applications. However, it seems that older applications such as Office 365 Suite, Slack or Spotify are now adopting it as well. Spotify for Windows 10 can now be downloaded from the Windows Store.
