Several modern lighting technologies have been used for the console version of Star Trek in order to improve the visual quality of the game. The result is a more realistic, fresh lighting thanks to a mix between deferred lighting, light probes, and improvements brought to the developers High Dynamic Range lighting system. The updated lighting adds a new level of form and depth to all the characters and the environment, and this will be more visible during battle scenes. If you play Star Trek Online on your PC, don’t panic, the lighting improvements will comes to the PC version of the game as well by the end of the year. The entire UI has been revamped and adapted for the controller experience, which was actually one of the the most difficult tasks because the team had to incorporate many commands into a 12 button device: Improvements have also been brought to episodic flow and player progression for a better transition. You can customize all the characters from the very beginning. You can choose your captain from 32 species available and then you have to decide which group you want to join: the Federation, Klingons or Romulans. Classic locations are available but you can also explore the space on your own. Meanwhile, you can play Star Trek on your PC or try out a similar game such as Star Wars.
