And since we are talking about Microsoft’s number one application when it comes to communication, we’re here to tell you about what is to come in 2022. There are probably a lot of new additions that are planned for the next year, so we’re just going to focus on one, very useful feature, for now.

New audio sharing feature coming to Teams in 2022

Let’s start from the beginning and remind you that the Teams desktop apps actually allows users to share their system audio while they are screen sharing. But even though screen sharing is supported during a Teams meeting on the web, you won’t be able to share system audio with others/ for the time being. However, as we mentioned at the beginning of the article, all this is about to change at the end of 2022’s first quarter. The Redmond-based tech giant has recently confirmed that users that are participating in Teams meetings on the web will be able to share audio while screen sharing in April 2022. If we think about it, that’s not that long from now, so we’re all going to get this functionality pretty soon. On the other hand, Microsoft also needs time to test it and eliminate all bugs and glitches. Since nobody is really interested in Skype anymore, and the tech company decided to bundle Teams with their latest operating system, Windows 11, a lot of improvements have been made lately. For example, the popular conferencing app received enhanced phishing protection, better suited for defending precious data in this era of hybrid work. Also, don’t forget about the new desktop music mode, and about the fact that you can access your Teams files even while you are offline. We’ll keep an eye out for any new details regarding this upcoming functionality and let you know once new details become available. Excited about this new feature?
