The ability to purchase a game from a Windows 10 computer then playback that same game on the Xbox One, is a great feature and we can’t wait to see what else the software giant does with this technology. Furthermore, it is also possible continue exactly where you’ve left off, no matter which system you’re using. At the moment, there are only a small amount of games supported, with the majority being Microsoft made. However, there are a few indie games in the space as well, but sadly, not a single big third-party developer is in sight here. Here’s the small list of Xbox Play Anywhere supported games:

Not the largest list in the world, but we definitely hope to see more games released with the Xbox Play Anywhere tag attached. We’re certain all Microsoft games in the future will be cross-buy and cross-play one way or the other; the indie developers will jump right in, but big third-party studios might take issue with such a plan. Seeing as Steam is the largest market for PC games on Windows 10, most third-party developers would not want to abandon it. In fact, it wouldn’t be wise, so for now, we just have to take the wait and see approach. Furthernore, Valve, the company behind Steam, is also a big player in the VR space. Microsoft’s only chance of getting third-party developers on this train is to increase usability of the store by selling more copies of Windows 10 and more Xbox One systems.
