Microsoft first introduced the inline progress bar for notifications with build 15007, allowing app developers to send toast notifications with a progress indicator to show progress to users. As promised, the Redmond giant has now brought this capability to Windows Store downloads as well.
Store app and game download progress bar
The new app and game download bar is a very useful tool when downloading large games. Users can easily go to the Action Center and check the download progress from time to time while doing something else. The new game download bar is part of Microsoft’s strategy to take the Windows gaming experience to the new level. As a quick reminder, build 15019 is all about gaming: The Game Mode is functional, built-in Beam streaming is now available, there is a new game section in Settings, 17 additional games received support in full-screen mode, and more. However, this build also brings some platform related bugs of its own that will impact the ability to play popular games on Windows PCs. Microsoft confirms that these platform bugs are not related to the new gaming features. Dona Sarkar’s team is working hard to find a fix for all these issues and roll it out as quickly as possible. What do you think about the new Store app and game download bar? Is there anything you would change about it? RELATED STORIES YOU NEED TO CHECK OUT:
