The only requirement to enjoy this expanded search is to have Windows 10 Preview build 14328 installed on your computer. Since the build is only available for users on the Fast ring, those on the Slow ring will have to wait some time until they can receive it and other features of this build. Showing OneDrive results in the search doesn’t seem like a major improvement when compared to other big additions in the most recent build, like Cortana on the Lock Screen or the revamped Start Menu. However, this change will make it easier for users to search for files as they just need to open File Explorer and search for whatever file or folder they want. All OneDrive content is covered with search, including documents, photos, videos, music, and all folders. Of course, you need to be signed in to OneDrive with the same Microsoft account as on your computer. But if you use OneDrive regularly, you probably did this as soon as you installed Windows 10. We say this for all features that arrived with Windows 10 Preview build 14328, and we’re going to say it again: the improved search option is only available for users of Windows 10 Preview, as Microsoft will release it to everyone else with the Anniversary Update.
