There have been many reports about the install issues affecting Windows 10 v1809. They may range from download errors all the way to system errors. In some cases, the install process suddenly stops and computers revert the changes.

Intel Display Audio drivers block Windows v1809

If you own a Surface Pro 4 device, this may be of interest to you. Some users reported that intcdaud.sys (which stands for a category of Display Audio device drivers) completely blocks the update. Microsoft doesn’t have clear answer to that question yet. The company suggested that users who are experiencing this problem need to download the latest Surface Pro 4 drives and firmware, uninstall the Intel display adapter from Device Manager and then run MSI. The next step is to restart the PC and hit the update button again.

Other users said that the update failed to install multiple times. Oftentimes, there is no clear indication as to what may cause this behavior as there is no information displayed on the screen. The update process gets stuck, no progress is made and Windows Update freezes. In this case, you can try to hard boot your computer and then run the Update troubleshooter. If the issue persists, you can also restart the Windows Update components by running the following commands in Command Prompt as an administrator:
