Video and display improvements

There are a bunch of new video features that users will get to enjoy and one of them is ALLM – Auto Low-Latency Mode. This enables the family of Xbox One devices to notify users’ displays when they’re playing a game so that a TV that also has support for ALLM will know to switch to the low latency video mode aka game mode. Gamers will get newly introduced support for variable refresh rate output to AMD Radeon FreeSync and FreeSync 2 compatible displays. This will help reduce input latency and minimize display stuttering for smoother gameplay. The Xbox One X and Xbox One S will support output at 2560 x 1440 resolution for media and games.

Mixer gets new features

Mixer streamers on Xbox One get a share controller. This feature will allow sharing control of a user’s game with the viewers on Mixer, leading to a more interactive experience. It will also be easier to start a Mixer broadcast by enabling it from more places in the Xbox One UI.

Narrator and Ease of Access

Based on fan feedback, the Xbox team is also making additional improvements to the Narrator on Xbox One. You will be able to adjust the Narrator volume independently from system audio volume. The Narrator menu also gets a new input learning mode, and when this is enabled, the Narrator will say the name of whatever button users press on an attached input device. Narrator options and high contrast light theme options can be adjusted in the Ease of Access menu in Settings. There are more features coming to Streaming and Captures, Apps, Clubs, Game Hubs & Tournaments and we recommend that you head over to the official Xbox website to read all about them in-depth.
